Taiping Toy Schnauzers, is delivered by hand. This means that mum has support during the entire delivery process, which can take over 24hrs, so it is exhausting. This allows me to support mum with a booster drink and to give her lots of love as she delivers her precious bundles

 

Once the puppies are born they are listed and weighed. Pups tend to lose weight in the first day or two but weight then steadily gains and this should be monitored daily for the first two weeks and then weekly thereafter. Any failing pups can be picked up very quickly and taken to the vet for help.

 

You may think this strange but socialization starts immediately. ENS, early neurological stimulation involves 5 daily gentle handling sessions. I do this from day 3 – 16 to boost stress intolerance, cardiovascular health and immune systems. This, along with early socialization starting at 3 weeks, helps  puppies become more resilient, confident and adaptable to new environments.
